Fifteenth Annual Legislative Kickoff Held January 8



Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk was named Lawmaker of the Year by UULM-MD and was the keynote speaker at the annual event. For the fifteenth consecutive year, UULM-MD outlined its priority legislation in seven issue areas:

  • Climate Change

  • Criminal Justice Reform

  • Economic Justice

  • Gun Violence Prevention

  • Healthcare

  • Immigration

  • Medical Aid in Dying

In addition, UULM-MD indicated that it would be supporting implementation of the Kirwan Commission recommendations to improve and better fund public schools.


After session, UULM-MD will also be involved in restoring democracy and promoting our shared values in the 2020 elections.
