Time to Care Act Introduced

Updated: Feb 21, 2020

Once again, it is time to recognize the value of workers, this time by passing the Time to Care Act which will establish a Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) Program. While federal law provides employees the right to take off to care for family, many cannot afford to do so. The FAMLI Program would create a fund to provide some support for these workers. The bill will be introduced today by Senator Antonio Hayes and Delegate Kris Valderrama (pictured above). UULM-MD is proud to support this effort through our Economic Justice Task Force.
