UULM-MD is one of more than 25 UU State Action Networks in the US. These groups are making a difference at the state level in areas such as marriage equality, repealing the death penalty, environmental protection, immigrant rights and raising the minimum wage. In this work, we acknowledge the importance and value of a religious voice in the public debate.
Each network is locally based and led by UUs working under the basic principle that sustained, positive change is built through the work of organized activists with the courage to challenge and confront oppression. The Coalition of UUSANs works with interfaith partners and justice organizations in their states, and have pulled together on federal campaigns as well. Through this work, the CUUSANs seek to build our faith and give voice to UU principles in the public arena.
The video,“What is your state of justice?” showcases the work of the CUUSANs, including UULM-MD. It demonstrates how UUs are coming together across the country to work for our UU values in the public square.
